US warns of famine: Africa and the Middle East are likely to be affected

The situation surrounding Ukraine could lead to famine in Africa and the Middle East, Cecilia Rouse, the chair of US President Joe Biden’s Council of Economic Advisers, told CNBC on Friday.

Rouse said that Russia and Ukraine are generally considered the bread basket for many parts of the world, as they are major producers of wheat, soybeans, and other agricultural commodities. And given the state of war and the sanctions placed on Russia, planting and exporting these key crops may become difficult, if not impossible, while higher energy costs and fertilizer prices add fuel to the fire.

How a Russia-Ukraine conflict might hit global markets

A potential invasion of Ukraine by neighbouring Russia would be felt across a number of markets, from wheat and energy prices and the region's sovereign dollar bonds to safe-haven assets and stock markets.

1. Gas prices today are for fuel that was refined a year or more ago. It's going to take a couple months before the $100/barrel of oil effect on gas prices, and it won't be good.

2. Import/Export container fees went from $1,500 as a low to sometimes as high as $30,000 per container, so prices will go much higher.

3. I'm not saying you need to run out and be a doomsday prepper, but I will suggest you get a good six month supply of necessities and emergency items.

4. IF Russia invades Ukraine it will cause supply issues with things like Amonia, Wheat, Coal, Petroleum. Food shortages are already happening in various places due to the supply chain. Furthermore, the invasion could embolden China to invade Taiwan, and that would place us in WWIII.

Only God can clearly define what is hate-speech and therefore silence it, but that will not happen until the return of Jesus. Until then the wheat and the tares must be left alone to co-exist together (Mt. 13:24-30, 37-43) until the time comes for the two to be sorted and separated from one another; a task for God alone and not any man, private entity, or earthly power.
