When people talk about civil war, most people imagine the civil war of the 1860s, with uniformed armies and north vs south and clearly defined lines of combat.

That is an anomaly of history.

Civil wars more typically involve tribal factions and ideologies deciding to attack everyone else that disagrees with them. It usually looks like guerrilla warfare, or insurgency, or like the old west family feuds, but on a national scale.

We could very well be on the cusp of a civil war very soon. Maybe as soon as the 1st of April.
